My cousin is Albert Sanchez, resident of Clayton. My grandfathers uncle at the time was Pinard, the sheriff of Clayton at the time. My grandfathers name was Trancito Romero. I brought several groups of middle school and high school students to the area on school field trips between about 1995 and 1999. At times we camped at beautiful Clayton Lake and other times we stayed at some of the fine motels in town. My wife and I have also been to Clayton on vacation. Both she and I enjoyed every trip. Morning breakfast at the friendly HiHo Cafe and excellent evening meals at the Eklund were highlights too. Lots of wonderful people in Clayton and Union County.
