Edward E. Tinker. Shot down in his P-38 Lightning 12/20/43, after a raid over Ploiesti, Bulgaria. I was hoping to gather some information about Bulgarian pilots with shoot downs on that day and where he may have been held as a POW. He died 7/25/2003 and had always spoken very highly of Bulgarian pilots and the kindness he recieved while held captive from 12/21/43 to 9/8/44. He said the Bulgarian soldiers prevented the Germans from taking them back to Germany when they left Bulgaria and set them free to prevent the Soviets from taking them. For that I am deeply grateful.
