I am a former student of Fr. Tom Tiscornia. He was my Rector in the Minor Seminary in El-Obeid Diocese. He was very encouraging. Many of us hated Arabic language due to our background as southern Sudanese. But Fr. Tom managed to convince us that Arabic is very important for our pastoral ministry as future pastors in Sudan.
He made friendships with the Muslims, building a spirit of dailogue. I remember some of Arab friends coming to converse visit him. He was once invited to a palce called El Nehud, where the Langauge Institute for the church personnel was. He ate our local which is porriage.
Fr. Tom left in my mind memories of an humble and visioned missioner. He tried to bring us upon for the Sudan of tomorrow. I am greteful indeedd for all that he did. May God keep him healthy.

We just back to HK from Tanz. We visited PASADA office in Dar Es Salaam on 4 Aug. It was a wonderful experience. We learn a lot from Mary.
After the visit, i always think about my own mission, like lay missioner service in Africa.
