Name: Hometown: Camden Town Sent: 17.07 - 29/12 Any chance of sending a password for the message board? I can't get on anymore. Still gutted about yesterday's result after having pissed all over Charlton in the first half. I'm convinced we have enough to stay up though. Oh and one more thing: what the hell is mouthing off at Keane outside the ground going to achieve? Name: Hometown: worksop Sent: 15.47 - 29/12 hi jim has the message board password changed. i cannot log in.thanks brian
Name: Hometown: Dallas, Texas USA Sent: 03.31 - 29/12 Evening all and holiday greetings from Dallas Texas. I, like so many Spurs fans around the world, am disgusted with the state of our club right now. It's incomprehensible to me how an organization so rich in tradition and pride can fall to its current depths. Plain and simple, Levy, the board and Pleat are completely clueless in terms of their ability to run a successful franchise. We need WHOLESALE changes at the club and if we dont get this soon then we better get used to life in the First Division. However, there is hope. I know this for a fact as I live in a city that has witnessed one of the greatest turnarounds in professional sports history - the Dallas Mavericks, arguably one of the worst NBA teams in the history of the league, now one of the hottest properties in the NBA. How did this team become one of the, most competitive, exciting franchises in the league? Well, having a billionaire owner certainly helps, but the success comes down to far more than money - it started by listening to the concerns of the fans and understanding that management is responsible for a product and should be held accountable. ENIC has absolutely no regard for this philosophy. Heres another turnaround to consider. Take a look at the Dallas Cowboys over the past few years. Although I am not a Cowboy fan, its a good case study for Spurs fans to consider in addition to the Mavs. Hire the right leadership and you can win with the same talent, - a la Bill Parcels takes practically the same team to the playoffs this year that could only win approx. 10 games over the last two years. Lastly, I want to recommend a fantastic book Spurs fans should read: Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game, written by Michael Lewis is a study of how the Oakland Athletics (major league baseball team) achieved tremendous success while having the smallest payroll in pro baseball. In sum this book proves that amassing a talented team can be created without putting the club in financial dire straits. Winning teams can be made and do not necessarily have to be bought. I know first-hand that Daniel Levy has read this book (an associate of mine gave it to him as a gift to read). Levy told my associate that English football is completely different and the philosophies would not apply to a team like Spurs TOTAL CRAP!! Does Levy have any idea what Audere est Facere means??? Clearly not! Anyhow I encourage you to read the book. Ill be in London for the Liverpool game my first game back in over two years. Despite the teams sorry state, I cant wait!! Hang in there all. Things can and will get better. Lets just hope things dont have to get worse first!
Name: Hometown: London Sent: 22.19 - 24/12 Jim your website is by a long way the best on the net and it kept me up to date while I have been away travelling over the past 5 months (have seen Spurs shirts in the stragest of places). So i just wanted to say cheers. Am hoping against hope that things finally turn round, I have my fingers crossed for Martin O' Neil at the end of the season. Oh yeah I'd like access to the message board if possible. Name: Hometown: Burgess Hill Sent: 13.09 - 23/12 I am trying to find out some deatils of a match between Dover FC and Tottenham A at Dover in 1954. My father AT wells was one of the linesmen for the game and I wonder if the subsequent Tottenham programme carried a match report. Any help greatly appreciated Thank you John wells Name: Hometown: Copenhagen, Denmark Sent: 10.34 - 23/12 My login/password for the message board hasn't been working for a few months - is it possible to get a new one? Name: Hometown: new malden, surrey Sent: 05.21 - 19/12 My credentials then...well i'm 29 and went to my first game in '85, we lost 3-1 at home to Leicester. Became a member in '89 and since then have been to practically every home game since. And about 6 or 7 away a season (not great i know). Been a season-ticket holder on-and-off for 5 years now, used to be Paxton, but been in Park Lane for 2 yrs now. ER.... favourite player Chrissy Waddle...best game 3-1 v.Arsenal semis'91 (not a dificult choice!)....and i've got about 80 loyalty points. Hope that's good enough! Name: Hometown: Heathrow-ish Sent: 23.29 - 17/12 Hello Jim, i've been supporting Spurs since i was six, i'm now 21, so unfortunately can't really remember much of our past success....can anyone under 40?? I have hazy memories of old gary and gazza, and fond memories of Klinnsmann and Sheringhams partnership. Go to most home games when i have the money as i'm a student :0D but am in my final year and once i get that lucrative job a season ticket will be on the way. Been reading your editorials since the beginning of last season and your site is now the first stop for me for your match reports and all the latest spurs news. Have many points and opinions i'd like to share with the rest of the fans on this site, espcially after gutwrenching quarter final defeats to dirty teams from the north east, Would like to get a membership? let me know, cheers mate Name: Hometown: malaysia Sent: 15.41 - 16/12 jim mate, you once supplied me a password and login name but recently i cant seem to login to the msg board using that login and password, could you supply me with a new one when you have the time, thanks mate! btw love you previews and reviews and love the banter on the msg board! You should lay of Postiga though. The reason people are giving him slack is because he loves Spurs. He could have gone elsewhere but chose Spurs cos he supported em as a boy. Enjoy your column though. Name: Hometown: Philadelphia, PA, USA Sent: 02.41 - 6/12 Hi all. Great win vs. Man City, hopefully we can keep that form against Wolves. It's hard to find people following the game on this side of the pond. Most fans only know Man United or A******. So, it's great to find a home for Spurs fans on the web. There's only one team in London! First match was 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford in 1971. Get across a couple of times a year. Want to contribute to debate. Really believe we can do a Sheffield Wednesday and disappear from big time. Past 10 years have been depressing but now I see little hope. Quite simply what passes for a board does not care. Is there anything we can do as supporters before it s too late. Name: Hometown: Pontefract Sent: 17.46 - 2/12 I was told about your site a couple of months back, and cannot praise it enough. Editorial of 1 Dec after the Blackburn game made my cry, it sums up EXACTLY how I feel. And I love how, after a win your inclination is to look all the way up to fourth place..I do it too, but know that in reality it's pure delusion. It's the sheer lack of creativity, ideas and ability to string a few passes together that depresses me so much. Been a Spurs fan since '71, my first clear memory is Big Chiv's 2 goals v Villa in League Cup Final, some of my best (and worst) memories come from 84-5, stood on the Shelf watching a real challenge for the title and then watching it fall apart. I remember a game v(I think) Ipswich late on that season, when Chris Hughton scored a cracker and his brother was just along from me on the Shelf, his face was a picture, couldn't decide whether to cheer or jeer! Happy days!! I can't believe it finally a site worth looking at, all the stats a Spurs fan ever needs. I am a true Yiddo, have watched many games and am a former season ticket holder at the Lane. The best memory I ever have as a Spurs fan is the 1991 FA cup win over those Gooners and that has to be the best Spurs moment of the recent years! Name: Hometown: Belfast Sent: 19.09 - 17/11 A site to do Spurs fans proud. I grew up in West Ham in the mid 70's and my Grandad (a keen West Ham man) used to take me to watch the hammers. But after seeing the 1981 FA cup final replay on tv i knew where my future loyalties were to lie. I have been to numerous games but the one that stands out the most was the 1991 FA cup semi-final at Wembley against the Gooners. Name: Hometown: London Sent: 13.15 - 13/11 Great site, good to see a rational Spurs POV somewhere on line. You managed to keep the Summer pretty interesting but teasing us all with the Scott Parker Story was just cruel!! As for credentials...my first game was Spurs vs.Liverpool in 1991 when we beat them 1-0 with Paul Stewart scoring a diving header. Being 11 I learnt a few new words that night(all short and sweet)which I then added into the '7 FA Cup tune. I do know all words still but it woud take wild horses to drag them from me! Oh and I sat thru the shower of shite that was Bolton 2 weeks ago. thx irrespective Name: Hometown: Watford Sent: 09.15 - 13/11 Great Site - Would like to have access to the messageboard to interact with proper spurs fans Park Lane Upper Season Ticket Holder - Often can be found in 'The Bank' - From a long line of Spurs fans Claim to Tottenham Fame: My Nan's uncle was Arthur Rowe (manager '49 to '55)

He could become the number 2 of Man.United but when they asked them a few months ago what team would you prefer to coach , he said TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS and he was sure about it. He got RKC ( a very mediocrit team ) in the past 5 years always in a TOP 5 place. I know the Dutch laegue is very poor but Martin Jol recieved a lot of respect for these achievements and is named as the new Dutch national coach. And for me I always can say SPURS it is day in , day out. To all SPURSfans over the world ............ ................SPURS ARE FOREVER !!!!!!!

COME ON YOU SPURS!!!! Name: Hometown: greenwich Sent: 11.36 - 26/9 Name: Hometown: Lisbon Sent: 11.36 - 23/9 I´m a 29 year old portuguese and i support Spurs since Lineker joined them from Barcelona in the 1989/1990 season. This was due to the fact that Gary Lineker, alongside Marco Van Basten, was, and forever will be, one of my favourite players. Has you well know it ain´t easy to support Spurs these days and in my country is the same because Man. Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal are a lot more visible and have more supporters than Spurs but i must say that i know more supporters of Spurs than Arsenal. I´ve been to White Hart Lane 2 times, the first one to see a 0-0 draw against Everton in the 1996/1997 season and the 1-1 draw against Arsenal last season. Every year i see about 5 to 6 matches of Spurs in the portuguese television and i didn´t noticed that much progress from Graham to Hoddle. This year i saw the games against PSV, Sporting Lisbon and Leeds and i think the team lacks players with ambition and desire to win, lacks pace and strenght in the midfield and is frightening to see the inability to play a short passing game with all the players involved. I´m a Sporting Lisbon supporter and i have to say that my favourite manager for Spurs would be José Mourinho of FC Porto, despite the fact that i hate them, as i think he is one of the best around but i doubt that he would be interested because sooner or later he will go to one of the top clubs in Europe, with Barcelona in the top of is preferences. I would love to participate in the message board.
