I like your site. However, I wish you had some critical material on some of Kafka's excellent but lesser known works like The Burrow and In the Penal Colony. The Burrow is the essence of Kafka, psychologically and In the Penal Colony ranks with Poe's Pit & the Pendulum.

Thanks for having this Kafka Letter To His Father available to read. I found reference to it for the first time reading Walter Kaufmann's, WITHOUT GUILT AND JUSTICE. Kaufmann uses a passage from it as an example of how guilt is born in each of us. It is helpful to understand the process because such understanding leads to our own autonomy.

I am a Polish journalist and a writer, and now am writing a book on Jicchak Levi (Jacques Lowy) - a Jewish actor from Warsaw who was a friend of Franz Kafka. He moved to Prague in 1911 and there met Kafka at Cafe Savoy. It was a really interesting friendship. I would be greatfull for any help on that topic.
Levi was killed in 1942 by nazis on Umschlagplatz in Warsaw.

There is a czech word for it - Hradcany.
Of course - Kafka uses the german name for this place. So if there is
a translation to English (try looking at some city play in English), use it,
or use the original czech word, if you want.
