The technology advances steadily. We can now put a microchip in a rat's brain, and control the movements of the rat with a radio transmitter. A monkey with a microchip in its brain can move a mechanical arm to get a drink of water just by thinking about it. Such technology could prove helpful for those who face barriers to sight and hearing and movement, but it could prove dangerous to those who do not. A person with a microchip in the brain becomes vulnerable to thought control by others.
