Welcome to my guestbook! Name: Hometown: Boston, Ma Sent: 5.02 AM - 5/11 I've read the other posts on this guestbook and I'm absolutely disgusted at those people who could defend Jane Fonda. Is this country so far gone that actions like hers can be considered anything less than treason? Are you people blind or just evil? Some guy called Jock Eberhard even reffered to her as an American hero. You don't know what a hero is. You weren't in Vietnam. You don't know a damn thing. Rather than accept a scholarship to an ivy-league university, my father volunteered for the Marines in 67 and was sent home in 68 after a bouncing betty destroyed his left leg. He didn't agree with the war, but he enlisted to serve his country in her time of need. Most of the Vets I've talked to have similar stories. Our veterans served with honor and incomprehensible bravery in Vietnam, men of that sort you could never, should never, forget. Nor should you forget those who would betray these men. To those who would commit, or defend, actions such as those taken by Jane Fonda, you are not my countrymen. You're nothing. Your life has less value than the skunk I ran over this morning. I would go to Hell rejoicing if I could only send Ms. Fonda there before me. May God bless America and all who defend her. Name: Maj. Archie Holton Hometown: U.S.Army Special Forces Sent: 11.04 PM - 2/17 She sould have been shot a long time ago! Name: BillV Sent: 4.27 AM - 1/6 I served in Nam in 1969 in the navy as a river rat and would love to see her in my town she would get what somone like her deserves a bullet to the head of Hanoi Janes She was the traitor we never thought we would see EVER. She should never get : Women of the Century in closing if you were not there dont try to tell us what she was like WE WERE THERE NOT YOU I can't even see a movie with her in it It makes me sisk. Name: Hometown: Atlanta Sent: 1.57 PM - 12/30 Jane Fonda is to be commended for visiting Palestinian squalid concentration camps controlled by the illegal occupant, Israel. People who continue to badger her for Vietnam are ignorant. Even the man who was partly behind that war, Robert McNamara, said not long ago that the war was "a mistake." Excuse me? When thousands of our men died due to Johnson not allowing enough weapons for them to even defend themselves? Johnson was a traitor. He also never allowed the injured sailors aboard the USS Liberty that was bombed by Israeli Jews in 1967, to be honored, nor were the dead honored. Unprecedented in other similar incidents. These men were threatened if they talked about seeing Israeli planes and in fact an unseen plane (Body of Secrets - book) was high overhead and heard the Jews talking about the American flag and trying to sink the ship. And the book tells of Johnson's words against his own military men, that the ship could be sunk for all he cared, that he could not tell on his ally Israel!! Ally? They are the cause of possible war and continued unrest in the Middle East. Johnson should be dug up and hanged from the WhiteHouse flagpole! And we should not be supporting Israel with it's weapons of mass destruction and long history of human rights violations. Hat's off to Jane Fonda for speaking out. No one should be supporting a racist, bigoted state nor one that defies international law on a continueing basis. Name: Hometown: MN Sent: 2.28 PM - 11/15 I have a dad and many of his friends that were in Nam. In high school and college I did a number of research papers on Nam and I researched Jane Fonda as well. I read and listened to what she had to say. I truly believe that she is one of the most heartless person I have seen, I rank her right along with any other murderer. I know, and she has even said so in interviews that she betrayed her country and the men that were forced to go to Nam to fight. I pray to god that she does not recieve the women of the century award. Name: Hometown: Rogers Sent: 3.30 AM - 5/8 I am aware of who the original author of this story is. I do not want to post his name on the internet; you may e-mail me if you want his name. He has (in years after he wrote the story) found many details to be untrue. Yet, it is known Fonda did sympathize with the enemy and talked with POWs in 1972. I am not calling her a traitor (although she is not considered an American in my own opinion), but I am saying she should have thought. I know she realizes this now, and I am happy she does. I am also aware she was not in favor of this war, as well as countless others. I am not sure of my stand on this issue, I honestly support both sides in a way. But, I want it to be known that I am not one of her supporters and completly disagree with her decision to do as she did. Name: Hometown: Springfield, MO Sent: 1.31 PM - 11/10 Bickering I hear from many almost makes me ashamed to be associated as a 23 back-to-back between the A Shau Valley and the DMZ, 501st Signal, 101st Airborne Div. Face it, You spread hate and rumors, then you are a traitor to the constitution, and some Charles who-ever-the-hell you are, you probably think you're a Christian, don't ya, Well this Nam Vet is going to judge you as someone whose gone way to far; immoral cowards like you can not be my Nam brothers, or buddies as I prefer to call them. You think saying someone can go to hell means crap. What are you God or some berserko that soils the pride of Nam Vet buddies. Take your scare tactics somewhere else. You are so full of it. Face up to the reality: The damned "conflict" was all Lyndon Baines Johnson, Greatest Treasonist in U.S.History, and RM Nixon, who thought he'd make a good Pope. Johnson had the least military intelligence of almost anyone I ever knew in the military and he only wanted "yes men", firing McNamara when he began coming to his senses as many had warned from the early days including the CIA, but not the Big Brass Generals. Lyndon Baines Johnson would lie about anything to get re-elected. It was his orders that had the U.S. using chemical and biological weapons that killed, maimed, horribly disfigured, innocent children in a war that was foolhardy and sloppy and stupid from the start--I count the really big-time jump-start as when Johnson told the Tonkin Gulf lie. The Vietnam "Conflict"! Yes, it was a conflict of the U.S.A. against the U.S.A., Nam Vet against Nam Vet. Leave Jane Fonda alone, you cowardly non-buddy and rethink your cowardly web spreading of hate messages to civilians; I don't know about you but I'm not the kind of coward that would spread hate rapped in some self-righteous per se. No, you stir hate, that suggests "your" brothers will maybe say it plainer--Okay, I'll say it, not anti-American, try to get Nam-Vets to gang on the internet with hate messages. How can anyone who even thinks he is a man, much less a patriot, stoop to such cowardly. I was trained to kill by hand or whatever means, and I have never been debriefed; I would fight you or any other anti-American hate-monger at any moment to defend The People their guaranteed freedoms. I hated the idiotic Johnson War and being Johnson's whore, because I had more military intelligence than he and his merry men. Jane Fonda knew it was a travesty on humanity too. She wanted it stopped for the same reasons I did. She may have been somewhat naive at one time on how she could effect it's end and thereby save more lives on both sides. Jane Fonda was not NVA nor anti-American, she could have done what many Americans did, don't takes chances, believe all the U.S.Government regurgi-tated lies, and the only thing that could ever stop it to make The People see the pieces of this puzzle would not fit, that it was ludicrous. She never caused any American soldier pain and suffering. Jane Fonda helped me survive that Hellhole, in one song I called "Where Red Rivers Flow" and though I did not do the brave thing and refuse to take part in what I considered immoral, I saved someone from having to take my place and maybe ending up dead or worse, and I saved lives of my buddies, just not enough of them, and survived though even though some time during the second year I took chances trying to get killed. Jane Fonda was trying to save American lives, and even though some Nammers crapped out, she continued to be an activist to show that we had no place in that civil war. I would fight any Nam Vet to the death in defense of one of my inspirations throughout life, a wonderful woman who has always been for good causes and against man's inhumanity to man. You're too much of a coward to show up here Charles, you and your pee-brained ilk. Well you disgrace Nam Vets, and I hope others stick we me and fight to let people be free, and keep Nam Vets for Nam Vets. And if you continue to think with a sewer mind spreading poison, well at least I'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you are going to stink like a skunk and are in a hell of your own making. Now, get your head down and keep quiet or you'll goof up and end up in a body bag, Cherry. Life Member Disabled American Veterans. I appreciate the Head of the Vietnam POWs doing everything possible to decapitate this Medusa of snakes. Let us all honor those on the wall, all the wounded, disabled, homeless, vets, mentally ill, addicted, alone: We and THE WALL: NO MORE VIETNAMS, and it's worked. They got the point. Oh, if I were younger, I would love to be take Usama bin Ladin out, even if he got me too, and we both stared eye to eye to see the Truth as we die. In my next fantasy, however I live and get to be Jane Fonda's body guard. "Hush,Hush, I thought I heard her calling my name now. [Song written by Joe South...recorded by Purple Haze." #1. Name: D Sent: 4.32 AM - 1/18 Subject: Women of the Century This should make anyone's blood boil. Subject: Women of the Century Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the "100 Women of the Century." Unfortunately many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country but specific men who served and sacrificed during Vietnam. Part of my conviction comes from personal exposure to those who suffered her attentions. The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot. The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat. In 1978, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison - the "Hanoi Hilton." Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJs, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American "peace activist" the "lenient and humane treatment" he'd received. He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and dragged away. During the subsequent beating, He fell forward upon the camp Commandant's feet, which sent that officer berserk. In '78, the AF Col. still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying days) from the Vietnamese Col.'s frenzied application of a wooden baton. From 1983-85, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4Es). He spent six years in the "Hilton"- the first three of which he was "missing in action". His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned/fed/clothed routine in preparation for a "peace delegation" visit. They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his SSN on it, in the palm of his hand. When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a camera man, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: "Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?" and "Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?" Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper. She took them all without missing a beat. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POW's, she turned to the officer in charge ... and handed him the little pile of papers. Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Col.Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know about her actions that day. I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam, and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held for over 5 years. I spent 27 months in solitary confinement, one year in a cage in Cambodia, and one year in a "black box" in Hanoi. My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse, in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border. At one time, I was weighing approximately 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs.) We were Jane Fonda's "war criminals." When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with Jane Fonda. I said "yes, for I would like to tell her about the real treatment we POWs were receiving, which was far different from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by Jane Fonda, as humane and lenient". Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees with out stretched arms with a large amount of steel placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane till my arms dipped. I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda for a couple of hours after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She did not answer me. This does not exemplify someone who will be honored as part of "100 Years of Great Women." Lest we forget..."100 years of great women" should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots. There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in blatant treason, is one of them. Please take the time to forward to as many people as you possibly can. It will eventually end up on her computer and she needs to know that we will never forget. Charles (Skip) Klingman Asst. Name: Sent: 5:17 PM - 9/7 Jane Fonda, true american hero! All you whiners still walking around thinking the Viet Nam Mess was some sort of great American battleground should wise up. The war crimminals (MacNamara and company) are still at large (if still alive). Until we admit that it was a crime against the Viet Namese and our own boys there will be no closure for anyone.........PERIOD! Name: Cinnamon Sent: 10:39 AM - 8/11 Here's what appears to be the original source of the letter online, excerpted from an ultra-right-wing book titled "You Don't Say!" (I forget the author's name, but go to the site and you'll see who it is.) http://www.youdontsay.org/Traitor.htm Having read both sides now, I still believe that Fonda is a traitor, but not to the degree outlined in the spam letter. God bless Mr. Sloan and his daughter, who I hope will be returned safely home. Name: Hometown: Connecticut Sent: 11:29 PM - 6/27 How can those who think Jane Fonda is innocent of any anti-American activities durin the Nam war reconcile the recent statements made by her apologizing for what she called the most despicable act she ever did? She went on to say that there is never a day when she recalls in disgust her atrocious actions. I agree, I hope she continues to have nightmares about it, and that she never has the opportunity to forget it for the balance of her life. For me, her apology comes 30 years too late. She can never suffer enough to elicit my sympathy Name: Hometown: Bristol Sent: 3:31 AM - 3/31 I'm amazed that people are calling the accouont of "Hanoi Janes" visit to Hanoi untrue. I remember well, having just been discharged from the Navy, all of the press reports about her visit, complete with photos, some taken with POW's. I still remember how she stated that our POW's were being treated well. I remember the photo-ops she had with the NVA. I guess that I thaught everyone knew what a traiter this woman is. Her actions were not of a war protestor, they were acts of treason. Roy Name: Homepage: Hometown: Swat Sent: 3:03 AM - 10/24 I am wishing that Jane Fonda could have come during the Afghan War. We would have loved to have sexual things with her. Since war never really ended do you think Mr. Sloan that you could send Bridget, her niece. We all got very excited when we saw Jackie Brown and Robert Deniro pumping her Pakistani style. We got so excited that many sheep were violated this night. Name: Beverly Smith Homepage: Hometown: Boston Sent: 6:16 PM - 10/23 First- so the message was posted in several discussion groups--thats the point (thus they're DISCUSSION groups) plus that doesn't mean Field Marshal DJ actually posted them there. Is it not far more likely that he saw this on a group, and forwarded it to people he knew from the internet? Why would he waste time doing a mass e-mail when he had just posted the letter on usenet hundreds of times? He wouldn't have. Most likely the Field Marshal and the person who originally posted the letter were DIFFERENT PEOPLE. Therefore, Mr Sloan, you are attacking an innocent person who now must change his e-mail address because of your inappropriate posting of his e-mail address. Second - I have seen this letter before, sent to me by a friend who has no connections to the Field Marshall or the right-wing. So, most likely the Field marshall did not write the letter and any hate mail sent in his direction will not only be misdirected, but useless as well. If you are truely interested in getting to the bottom of this and not in simply making an example of a right-winger find out who REALLY wrote this or posted this first and publish THEIR e-mail address on the net with a tag line urging people to spam them until they have to change their address... Third-Having read the e-mail I doubt there is any danger to Ms. Fonda's life because of an e-mail most people ignore or delete. To me, that seems like paranoia more than reasonable logic. The only thing that comes out of this page is that someone now has to change his e-mail address because of you. Yes, perhaps the field marshal was wrong to do a mass e-mailing, but your wrong is ten times worse. You claim to know how much good the internet can do...yet you have now misused it and lost much of the credibility you claim to have. I am sure the Field marshal is thankful he didn't sign his real name-- he might have been getting spam e-mail AND snail mail... Oh and before you attack me, I am posting this without an e-mail address because I am afraid YOU will put my address online and urge people to spam me. Number of messages: 15 [ ] |
