The number of Oromo students who are attending secondary school and then joining colleges and universities in Ethiopia are very negligible in number when compared with students from minority ethnic groups who have been sharing the state power for the last 130 years. Oromia has been under the colony of black people, which in effect lead to the masking of the problem from the sight of international community. Because of the colonial effect Oromo nation had never shared equal access to natural resources and other social benefits i.e. land and water resource, health, and education etc. and several Oromo parts , Oromos are still suffering from different social, economical, political and discriminative policies of the empire. As a result Oromo youths had never had equal right and access to education when compared to the Abyssinian minorities; colonizers. These and the like contributed to reduction of number of Oromo students who are attending universities and colleges. This fact should not surprise some one, because this is the effect of colony. The number of our students who are joining colleges and universities are small number for the some same reason stated above. Oromo students immediate families, family members and relatives were persecuted, lost their lives under cruel torture and others are in exile. Some of us dont know, whereabouts of our families and relatives, the properties of some others were confiscated and left with nothings to survive on and sustain their life. We, Oromo students who lives under such worst condition in primary, secondary, colleges and universities faced and are still facing such bitter and painful deeds of current dictator Tigrean led government of Meles Zenawi. We Oromo students in secondary school and universities decided to organize ourselves and participate in resisting evil deeds of Tigrean government. The Oromo nation had never accepted the suppression and political and social evils of the Abyssinians. Like wise neither their children would do? There is no way and no where, whereby the right of the people stepped on and some one keep quiet and would look at it. What we would like to bring to the attention of world community is that Oromos had never refused to live in co-operation with the other people in Ethiopia never but resisting the sprit and deeds of I know for you and the essence of let me decided for your fate in order to be together. To release Oromo scholars and freedom fighters who had detained without any judgment or court order. . 2. To set free Oromo students those who are struggling for their academic right and right of their people. 3.. To stop devastation of Oromo natural resources like forestry for selling of timbers and logs and burning down of forests with out no reason and excuse. 4.To respect democratic right of Oromo people from basic human right to self-determination . This issues had been exposed to the world community and now days there is a considerable sympathy and support to Oromo people from quiet a number of countries. YOUR government is one of these many nations to support Oromo national cause. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Your people and government for their support and sympathy towards our community. Oromo students denied their academic right by dictator and malicious intent which they are entitled to as a bona fida students in all colleges and universities in Ethiopia. In general like our parents we have been deprived of our rights, free movement, the right of statement of ideas and opinion in free academic environment. Moreover we were tortured psychologically morally and physical and then forced to live under constant threat. The attack to Oromo students is not only by the said regime but also by the staff and lecturers which belongs to the said Ethnic group i.e Tigrea and Amhara who constitute about 95% of the university community . Oromo students are suffering not only from political suppression but segregation in free academic environment, in their academic achievement and they are unable to tolerate the evil deeds. Dear Sir, as we explained in detail we had been pushed from where we used to pursue our academic career and are now refugee without any support, be it for our daily survival or to resume our education here in exiles.
